Students interested in applying for the Vodacom Bursary Program must meet certain eligibility requirements and submit a complete online application.

Eligibility Requirements

Before applying, ensure that you meet the following criteria:

1. You must be a South African citizen by birth.
2. You must currently be in Matric or have completed Matric.
3. You must be enrolled in or intending to study full-time towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the following STEM fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
4. You must be entering the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of full-time study in 2025.
5. Your studies must be undertaken at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
6. You must have achieved a minimum of 70% in all Matric subjects or have obtained an exemption pass.
7. If currently studying, you must have an overall average of at least 65% at the tertiary level.
8. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Failure to meet any of these criteria will result in your application being disqualified.

Required Documents

The application process requires several supporting documents, which must be submitted online.

Make sure you have the following ready before submitting your application:

1. Certified copy of your ID document.
2. Your Grade 11 results and Matric results (if you are still in Matric).
3. Certified copy of your Matric certificate (if you have completed Matric).
4. Full academic record or transcripts from your tertiary institution (if already studying).
5. Fee statement from your current institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
6. Proof of acceptance into a tertiary institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
7. Proof of any other bursary awards you are currently holding.
8. A completed Parental Consent Form (for applicants under the age of 18).

Once you submit your application online, you will receive a confirmation email from Vodacom, acknowledging receipt of your application.

Deadline

Applications for the 2025 academic year are currently closed.

However, you can visit the Vodacom bursary page again from 1 June 2025 for the 2026 intake.

Selection Process and Outcome

The Vodacom Bursary Management team will review all applications thoroughly. 

Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by no later than 15 December 2024. 

If you do not receive any feedback by this date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
