Eligibility Criteria for the Thuthuka Bursary
To qualify for the Thuthuka Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Identify as Black African or Coloured.
- Be in Grade 12, a recent school leaver (with Matric) within two years, or a university student pursuing a CA-stream BCom degree.
- Achieve a minimum of 60% (level 5) in Mathematics (Maths Literacy and Technical Maths are not accepted).
- Have applied or be in the process of applying for a BCom Accounting (CA-stream) degree at a university offering the Thuthuka programme.
- Come from a family with an annual income of R350,000 or less.
- Apply for and write the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) before the end of August.
