Who Can Apply?
To qualify for this bursary, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen or permanent resident
- Be under the age of 35
- Be Black (as per B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice)
- Have completed Matric
- Be studying or planning to study a STEM degree at an undergraduate or postgraduate level (Masters, Honours, or PhD)
- Be enrolled in a recognised and accredited South African tertiary institution
- Come from an economically disadvantaged background
- Be in financial need

Supporting Documents Required
When applying, you must submit clear copies of the following documents:
- Certified copy of your ID document
- Matric certificate (if entering first year)
- Full academic record (if currently studying)
- Proof of acceptance at a tertiary institution (on university letterhead)
- University tuition fee statement (if applicable)
- Invoice or quotation for accommodation (if applicable)
- A motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary
- Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ ID documents
- Proof of income for parents, guardians, or yourself:
- Payslips or employment letter (if employed)
- Three months’ bank statement (if self-employed)
- Affidavit (if unemployed)
- Certified copy of SASSA letter (if receiving a social grant)
Note: All documents must be certified at the South African Police Services (SAPS) or Post Office and must not be older than three months.
Application Deadline
The closing date for applications is 28 February 2025.
