The Mangosuthu University of Technology Former Student Christian Organisation (MUTFSCO), in partnership with BASF, invites Black female students to apply for the Black Women in Science Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year.

Study Fields Covered by the MUTFSCO & BASF Bursary
Bursaries will be awarded to Black female students pursuing studies at the Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) in the following fields:
- Chemistry
- Engineering
- Sciences
MUTFSCO & BASF Bursary Coverage
The bursary provides comprehensive financial support, including:
- Full tuition fees.
- Books and a laptop.
- Accommodation and food.
- A monthly stipend.
Who Can Apply for the MUTFSCO & BASF Bursary?
To qualify for the bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be a Black female.
- Have completed Matric.
- Be studying or intend to study full-time towards a qualification in one of the approved fields in 2025.
- Be enrolled or registered to study at the Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT).
- Have a strong academic record.
- Demonstrate financial need and meet the NSFAS income criteria.
- NOT be receiving any other bursary or scholarship awards.
- Have no criminal record.
Steps to Apply
Applications must be submitted online at MUTFSCO & BASF Bursary Application 2025
Submit clear copies of the following certified documents:

- Matric certificate.
- Academic record and statement of results (if currently studying).
- Proof of household income (recent payslips, bank statements, or affidavits).
- A motivational essay (2 pages, 12pt font, 1.5 line spacing) focusing on:
- The current and future state of your field of study.
- How you will contribute after graduating.
- Why you deserve financial support.
- Curriculum Vitae (maximum three pages).
Important Notes:
- Incomplete or late applications will NOT be considered.
- Ensure all documents are certified and not older than 3 months.
