About Johannesburg Water
Johannesburg Water SOC Ltd (JW), established in 2000 and fully owned by the City of Johannesburg (CoJ), is dedicated to providing quality water and sanitation services to over 5 million residents.
Supplying 1.6 billion liters of potable water daily, JW operates across six regions, managing six wastewater treatment plants and ten network depots.

Johannesburg Water offers bursaries for students pursuing BSc degrees at Gauteng-based universities (TUT, VUT, WITS, UJ, UP) in the following engineering fields:
- Civil Engineering: 2 bursaries available.
- Electrical Engineering: 1 bursary available.
- Mechanical Engineering: 1 bursary available.

The bursary provides comprehensive financial support, including:
- Tuition fees.
- Accommodation and living expenses.
- Required study materials.
Who Can Apply For Johannesburg Water Bursary?
To qualify for the bursary, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens.
- Have completed Matric.
- Be enrolled full-time in a BSc Engineering degree within one of the listed fields.
- Be entering their second or later year of study in 2025.
- Be attending a recognized Gauteng university (TUT, VUT, WITS, UJ, or UP).
- Have a strong academic record.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Have no prior bursary or funding (excluding NSFAS).
- Preferably be female or have a disability.

Steps to Apply

- Submit your application along with the required documents (incomplete applications will not be considered):
- Certified copy of your ID document.
- Certified copy of your official statement of results.
- Certified copy of your full academic record.
- Proof of tertiary registration or admission (on institutional letterhead).
- Certified copies of your parents’ or guardians’ ID documents.
- Certified copies of your parents’ or guardians’ proof of income (latest payslips if employed or affidavits if unemployed).
- A motivational letter (refer to the application form for details).
