Eligible fields include:

1. Engineering: Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, and Marine Engineering.
2. Management: Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, and Risk Management.
3. Specialized Training: Pilot licenses, Commercial Diving, and Maritime Studies.
4. Research-Oriented Degrees: Master’s and Doctoral studies in transport-related topics.

The bursary covers tuition, accommodation, meals, books, and transport, ensuring a comprehensive support system for successful applicants.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must meet these requirements:

1. Be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
2. Be currently unemployed.
3. Be a matriculant, NCV Level 4 graduate, or an existing student in a recognized South African institution.
4. Have a minimum average of 50% in their previous academic results.
5. Belong to a previously disadvantaged background with a household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum.

Specific criteria apply for specialized courses, such as possessing a valid Private Pilot License (PPL) for certain aviation-related programs.

How to Apply

Applications for the TETA Bursary are conducted online. 

The submission requires a detailed set of supporting documents, which depend on the applicant’s academic level or field of study.

Required Documents For Matric Students:

1. Certified copy of ID.
2. Grade 11 or Matric results.
3. Proof of application or acceptance to a recognized institution.
4. Certified proof of household income and guardians’ ID.
5. Affidavit confirming employment status.

For Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students:

1. Certified copies of ID and highest qualification achieved.
2. Proof of application or registration at an institution.
3. Financial statements showing outstanding tuition balances (if applicable).

For Specialized Fields (e.g. Commercial Pilot, Diving):

1. Valid licenses (e.g. PPL, CPL) for aviation programs.
2. Medical examination results for diving applicants.
3. Quotations for tuition, equipment, or training costs.
