Armscor, in partnership with the Defence Industry, is offering bursaries for the 2025 academic year.
Study Fields Covered by the Bursary
These bursaries are for students pursuing studies that are important to the future of the defence industry.

- Aeronautical Engineering
- Biochemistry / Chemistry and Physics
- Computer Science / Information Technology (IT) / Cyber Security / AI
- Electronics / Electrical Engineering
- Human Kinetics & Ergonomics Science
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics Engineering
- Physics & Astrophysics
- Naval Engineering / Marine Engineering
Bursary Coverage
The Armscor bursary provides financial support to students by covering:
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed books
- Accommodation
- Meals
- Living allowance
- Vacation work (where available)
If you are awarded the bursary, you will have fewer financial worries and can focus on your studies.
Funding Duration and Renewal
The bursary is awarded for one academic year at a time.
However, students can apply for renewal every year if they continue to meet the academic requirements.
This means that if you work hard and perform well, Armscor can support you throughout your studies.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for this bursary, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed Matric
- Have achieved at least Level 5, 6, or 7 in Mathematics, Physical Science, and English in Matric
- Be studying or planning to study full-time in one of the approved fields in 2025
- Be registered or planning to register at a recognized South African university
- Have a strong academic record
- Be interested in a career in the defence industry
- Be from a previously disadvantaged background

Steps to Apply
Applying for the Armscor bursary is easy if you follow these steps:
- Download the application form:
- Prepare the required documents:
- Certified copy of your ID
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate
- Full academic record (if you are already studying)
- Proof of registration at a university (on the institution’s letterhead)
- Certified copies of your parents’ or guardians’ ID documents
- Proof of income for your parents or guardians (payslip, employment letter, SASSA grant proof, or affidavit if unemployed)
- A covering letter explaining why you chose your field of study
- Submit your application:

- If you don’t hear back, it means your application was not successful.
- Submit extra documents (if shortlisted):
