The BPM bursary provides comprehensive support, including:

  • Bursaries are awarded for one academic year at a time.

Who Can Apply for the BPM Bursary?

To qualify for the BPM Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be between 18 and 24 years old.
  • Have completed Matric.
  • Be enrolled or accepted to study full-time in one of the approved fields at a recognized South African university.
  • Have achieved a minimum of 60% (level 5) in English, Mathematics, and Physical Science in Matric.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Be able to obtain a medical fitness certificate.
  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Show initiative, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.
  • Preference will be given to students residing within a 50km radius of the Bakubung Platinum Mine in the North West province.

Steps to Apply

  1. Required Documents,
    • Get Your Certified copy of your ID document.
    • Get Your Certified copy of your Matric certificate.
    • Get a certified copy of your most recent academic records (if you are currently studying).
    • Get Your Proof of acceptance from your educational institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
    • Get Your Curriculum Vitae (CV).
    • Get Your Proof of Residence.
  2. Submit Your Application:
    • Deliver your application to the Bakubung Platinum Mine Main Gate Security Offices in a locked steel box.
    • Complete the submission register upon delivery.

Note:

  • Certified documents must not be older than 3 months.
  • Do NOT submit original documents, as they will not be returned.

Application Deadline

The closing date for applications is 3 February 2025.

  • Applications submitted after this date will NOT be considered.
