- Marine Engineering (National Diploma)

- Water and Science Technology (National Diploma)
- Water Resource Management (BSc)
Bursary Coverage
The bursary provides financial support to cover tuition fees, prescribed study materials, accommodation, and other study-related expenses.
The exact amount covered will depend on the budget of the municipality.
Funding Duration and Renewal
The bursary is awarded for one academic year at a time.
Students must reapply every year if they want to continue receiving funding.
The renewal depends on the student’s academic performance.
Who Can Apply?
To apply for this bursary, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Live within the Alfred Nzo District Municipality in the Eastern Cape
- Be between 16 and 35 years old
- Be currently in Matric (2024) or have completed Matric
- Plan to study in one of the listed fields in 2025
- Plan to study at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa
- Have good academic performance
- Be in financial need
- Preference will be given to disadvantaged students
Steps to Apply
- Download and complete the Alfred Nzo District Municipality Bursary Application Form 2025 (.pdf).
- If you cannot download the form, collect a physical application form from ANDM offices, local municipalities (Mbizana, Ntabankulu, Umzimvubu, and Matatiele), or Ward Councillors.
- Gather the following required documents (certified copies where necessary):
- ID document
- Matric results (if still in Matric)
- Matric certificate (if Matric is completed)
- Proof of acceptance to a recognized tertiary institution
- Proof of residence from your Ward Councillor
- Parents’ proof of income (payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of SASSA grant or pension if applicable, death certificate if deceased)
- Motivational letter explaining why you should be considered for the bursary
